This is a Savage lever rifle, model 1899B in clean, experienced condition. This gun has been used and well kept, the bluing is 50% the lever and receiver. The barrel still retains over 80% of it's bluing with some minor freckling.  The barrel is 26" long and sports a clean and shiny bore with no pitting. The stock retains most of it's original semi gloss finish, shows signs of use but has no dings, scrapes or gouges that would indicate rough or severe use in the brush. Also, the wood fits tight up against the receiver and barrel and retains it's original butt plate. The serial number indicates that this rifle was manufactured in 1903, the caliber is 38-55
